Original Item: Only One Available: The SS (Schutzstaffel - 'Protection Squadron') was originally formed in 1925, ostensibly to act as a small, loyal bodyguard unit to protect the Führer, Adolf AH. Under the direction of the Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, the SS grew to be the most ruthless and feared organization of the 20th century. They were the vanguard of NSDAPsm and eventually controlled nearly every function of German life and much of Occupied Europe. 

This is a very nice unissued SS Overcoat Kampfbinde (Armband), with a red woven wool band, with a multipiece Satin Swas sewn onto the front. This armband is more or less identical to the standard armband of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party.  However, it bears an original correct RZM tag with the double sig (ᛋᛋ) symbol of the SS in a circle. The SS had their own standards and channels for materials, and only those for the organization would ever bear that mark. The tag is in very good condition, and  has a correct “D” tax code and features the RZM logo as well as the ink stamped numerical designation of the hersteller (manufacturer) A4/7 over lot No. 140117. 

This type armband would be worn on the overcoat of SS members. It is in very good condition, and measures approximately 16 1/2" x 4 3/8", being sewn together in the back.  Definitely a very nice example, with vibrant colors. There is minimal age toning on the white background. It has suffered some mothing over the years, most of which is confined to the nap of the fabric. A very nice example of a rare armband!
